Online Learning
FIT offers topflight preparation for the new creative economy — but that doesn’t mean you need to be here in person to access it. Our online courses are flexible enough to fit into your busy schedule. Find out how you can work FIT’s online courses and degrees into your future.
We’re Flexible
Online. All the Way.
Access our world-renowned curriculum and industry-leading faculty online—for an entire course of study. Earn an associate’s degree in Advertising and Marketing Communications, Communication Design, or Fashion Business Management or a bachelor’s degree in International Trade and Marketing.
Take a Course—or More—Online
By tapping into FIT’s extensive roster of online courses, you can learn on your own time and still communicate easily with your professors and fellow students.
Blending the Best of Both Worlds
With half your time in the classroom and half doing asynchronous activities, you’ll get the benefit of a traditional classroom experience along with the flexibility that distance learning provides.
Flexible Learning Options That Fit Your Life
Sometimes, you really want to be in person to speak with a professor firsthand and collaborate with your peers. Other times, learning from home is more convenient.
That’s why FIT offers almost 900 online course sections per year, plus four online degree programs. All our online courses are open to both degree and nondegree students, as well as international students.
Online courses run asynchronously on the same semester schedule as face-to-face courses. Activities in online courses are the same as in a traditional class: Students read course materials, write papers, conduct research, take exams, and communicate with their instructor and fellow students. Students and faculty use technology as a tool in completing these tasks and leverage the wealth of resources available through the internet.
Online courses work best for independent learners with strong reading and writing skills. You may be expected to participate in online discussions with your class several times per week.
If you opt to take an online course, you will access it through Blackboard.
