CET Syllabus Connect Project
In May 2014 the CET was awarded a Sustainability Grant to explore the use of a tool designed to create and share syllabi campus-wide that is compatible with FIT systems. This proposed syllabus template system is a research model, designed to generate a proof of concept. The project's objective is not to institutionalize the project as is, but to generate data upon which informed decisions regarding a template system can be made. Faculty were motivated to test this system by the potential to save more than 400,000 pages of paper per year, coupled with the advantages of producing a more consistent syllabi for students and faculty.
