Advertising
As part of FIT’s overall marketing services, advertising can be an effective way to promote programs and initiatives, events, and exhibitions.
The college’s advertising budget is set annually as a part of the overall budget process, to support student recruitment, continuing education programs, open houses, special events, special course offerings, and Museum at FIT exhibitions. CER collaborates with the schools and administrative divisions to help clarify objectives and identify potential advertising opportunities, consults on paid digital media advertising, and coordinates marketing and promotion plans for FIT’s official digital properties, including the website, Newsroom, social media channels, live streaming, and campaigns for individual programs and events.
The college uses an external agency to create, plan, purchase, track, and analyze paid media, including print, radio, digital, and social media.
To ensure effective use of the college’s annual advertising budget, we typically plan for the entire fiscal year whenever possible. Advertising requests must be approved by the dean or vice president of the appropriate school or division, so please obtain that approval before you submit your inquiry form.
Please keep in mind:
- CER is the only office authorized to purchase print, online, and social media advertising on behalf of the college. (The only exception is Human Resources, for employee recruitment.)
- Time frames for placement in various channels vary from as little as a week for a simple boosted social media post to several months for more traditional media.
NOTE: If you want to promote a campus event, please use the Newsroom submission form.
