Orientation FAQs

  • How do I access the Orientation Schedule?
    Students can access the orientation schedule three different ways:

    • via paper schedule (picked up at check-in or at the Orientation Headquarters located in the Dubinsky Student Center Lobby)

    • by downloading the CORQ app on your device and searching for "Fashion Institute of Technology" (it will not populate if you search as "FIT").  Then locate the schedule for your academic school (i.e. School of Business and Technology, Art and Design, Liberal Arts and Sciences).

    • by visiting FITLink on a desktop/laptop/phones browser at fitnyc.campuslabs.com/engage 

  • How do I know which group number or check-in group color I am in? 
    Students were sent an email from [email protected] with their orientation group number and check-in group color.  Group color is based on last name.

  • How do I know who my Orientation Leader (OL) is?
    Two (2) Orientation Leaders are assigned to each group number. Check your email for your Orientation group number and OL name. You will be able to meet your OL and exchange contact info during the OL Group Meetup.
  • Where do I check in?
    Students should check in in the location that corresponds with the first letter of their last name:
  • Is Orientation mandatory?
    Orientation is mandatory for all students: if you have a conflict be sure to attend as many sessions as you can as Orientation is designed to facilitate your transition to FIT smoothly and there will be no makeup options.
  • Is Orientation lunch free?
    Lunch during Orientation is FREE and you do not need to use your meal plan. You can use your meal plan during all other times of the day.
  • Where do I get my FIT Student ID/Campus Card?
    If you uploaded your photo in advance of Orientation, you will receive your FIT ID when you check in on the first day of Orientation. If you miss check-in, and you uploaded your photo in advance, you can pick up your ID from the Orientation Headquarters located in the Dubinsky Student Center Lobby. If you DID NOT upload your photo in advance, you will be able to take your ID photo in the Feldman Center Lobby on Wednesday, August 23rd (in the morning for the School of Business and Technology and in the afternoon for the School of Art and Design & School of Liberal Arts and Sciences).

  • When can I have a tour of the campus?
    Campus Tours will be available on Wednesday, August 23rd at 10am & 11am for School of Business and Technology students and at 3pm & 4pm for School of Art and Design & Liberal Arts and Sciences students. All tours will depart from the Dubinsky Student Center Lobby.
