How can I get a statement verifying my employment at FIT?
Please complete an Employment Verification Letter Request Form and forward to Human Resources with instructions on where to send the verification letter. Please indicate any special instructions on the form, if you would like to pick it up, or if you want to have it mailed directly to a recipient.

How can I get my payroll check directly deposited?
Complete a Payroll Allocation Form, attach a voided check or a savings deposit ticket, and submit to the Payroll Office located at 333 7th Avenue, 16th Floor.

I recently moved. How do I update my information?
You must first update your home address and emergency contact information using MyFIT and complete new tax forms with the Payroll Office. If you are currently enrolled in any FIT benefits plans or the UCE of FIT Welfare Trust Fund, please review the Benefits Address Change page. Please note, employees with retirement account(s) are responsible for notifying the appropriate representative. 

How can I make an appointment to look at my personnel file?
All employees who need to review personnel files should schedule an appointment with the Office of Human Resources at least one business day or more prior to review. If your file is going to be reviewed, please make sure you have completed the release form authorizing the individual(s) who will be performing the review. Does FIT offer tuition exemption to all employees?
Yes. We offer tuition exemption for classes taken at FIT to all employees who work at least half of a full-time work load. For example, a staff employee would need to work 17.5 hours, while a faculty employee would need to teach 6 credited hours.

Does FIT offer tuition reimbursement for other SUNY colleges?
Yes. Each year FIT is allocated a fixed amount to reimburse FIT employees who attend other SUNY schools. The B-140W Application for Tuition Fee Assistance can be attained at the front desk of the Office of Human Resources.

What do I do if I sustain a job-related accident or injury OR suffer an occupational disease in the course of my employment at FIT?
It is the college's policy to comply fully with all applicable laws and regulations that relate to the New York State Workers' Compensation Law.  FIT's Workers' Compensation Benefit Program provides employee protection in the qualifying event of loss time or medical expenses due to work related accidents, injuries, or illnesses.
