Holiday Parties, Alcohol, and Gifts from Vendors
When the holiday season is upon us we want to ensure the FIT community enjoys this time while also remaining mindful of the policies in place concerning holiday parties, alcohol, and gifts from vendors.
Please remember all parties on college premises must end by 7:00 p.m. At that time, employees may return to their offices or work stations only for work purposes or to gather their personal belongings before leaving the premises.
Official holiday parties, regardless of where they are held, are considered FIT activities and, as such, must adhere to the guidelines set forth in the college’s Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention policy which guides the use, purchase, distribution, and consumption of alcoholic beverages during these activities. Additionally, all FIT employment policies regarding behavior (i.e., harassment or discrimination) continue to apply. You may refer to the college’s Nondiscrimination and Anti-Harassment policy to review these guidelines.
The holidays are also a time for giving. If you have any concerns about accepting gifts from a person or entity doing business with, or seeking to do business with, the college, please refer to the college policy on Employee Code of Ethical Conduct to ensure continued preservation of fair and ethical dealings at FIT.
Thank you for your cooperation and best wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season.
