Veteran Student Eligibility
New Students
What to send to your Fashion Institute of Technology VA Certifying Official:
- copy of completed application for veteran student educational benefits
- copy of Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty DD Form 214 - if you are a Veteran
- copy of Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE) DD Form 2384-1 (.pdf) - if you are a member of the Select Reserve
- copy of Buy-up Program documentation - if applicable
- copy of Certificate of Eligibility - you will receive this from the Buffalo Regional VA office once a determination on your eligibility is made
Transfer Students
Students who had been receiving veteran benefits at another college must complete a Change Program/Place of Training form to receive benefits at the Fashion Institute of Technology:
- VA Form 22-1995 for veterans, service persons, and members of the selected reserve or
- VA Form 22-5495 (.pdf) for survivors and dependents education assistance

Continuing Students
Continuing students are asked to contact the VA Certifying Official immediately upon registering for classes; this is not limited to fall and spring semester registration, but winter session and summer session I or II classes as well.
