Veteran Student Eligibility

New Students

What to send to your Fashion Institute of Technology VA Certifying Official:

1. copy of completed application for veteran student educational benefits 
2. copy of Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty DD Form 214 - if you are a Veteran
3. copy of Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE) DD Form 2384-1 (.pdf) - if you are a member of the Select Reserve
4. copy of Buy-up Program documentation - if applicable
5. copy of Certificate of Eligibility - you will receive this from the Buffalo Regional VA office once a determination on your eligibility is made

Transfer Students

Students who had been receiving veteran benefits at another college must complete a Change Program/Place of Training form to receive benefits at the Fashion Institute of Technology:

• VA Form 22-1995 for veterans, service persons, and members of the selected reserve or
• VA Form 22-5495 (.pdf) for survivors and dependents education assistance

What to send your Fashion Institute of Technology VA Certifying Official:

Continuing Students

Continuing students are asked to contact the VA Certifying Official immediately upon registering for classes; this is not limited to fall and spring semester registration, but winter session and summer session I or II classes as well.
