Eligibility
If you are a high school student
You are encouraged to apply to the two-year associate degree program (AAS) in Communication Design Foundation. Upon completing that degree, you may apply into the two-year Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) program in Spatial Experience Design.
Applicants are expected to submit a competitive portfolio and will be interviewed by department representatives. After the FIT Admissions Office has reviewed your application for eligibility, you will receive instructions regarding your portfolio.
If you have an AAS or BFA from FIT
FIT students completing any AAS degree from the School of Art and Design may also be considered for the BFA in Spatial Experience Design.
Applicants from all other FIT AAS majors are encouraged to apply for the one-year AAS in Communication Design Foundation. Upon completion of the AAS, you may apply to the two-year BFA in Spatial Experience Design.
If you have credits or a degree from another college
Students transferring from an equivalent Art and Design degree program may apply to the two-year BFA in Spatial Experience Design. An equivalent program will include the FIT-required liberal arts credit and major coursework. A competitive portfolio is required..
