Checklist
To prepare for graduation, you should do the following:
- RSVP for Tickets
Each graduate is entitled to four (4) guest tickets plus one (1) for themselves. RSVPing also secures the graduate's participation in the ceremony. Check out full details below. - Schedule Your Commencement Portrait

Caps and Gowns
Academic regalia is required attire for all students participating in commencement exercises.
- If you ordered your cap, gown, and hood and plan to pick them up at Barnes & Noble
on campus, the dates to do so are May 12, 13, 16–19. Find the full schedule below:
- Thursday, May 12: 10 am–7 pm
- Friday, May 13: 10 am–3 pm
- Monday, May 16: 10 am–5 pm
- Tuesday, May 17: 10 am–5 pm
- Wednesday, May 18: 10 am–5 pm
- Thursday, May 19: 10 am–7 pm
- If you missed the deadline to order your regalia, it may be purchased directly from Barnes & Noble at FIT by contacting [email protected] or by stopping by the bookstore during the cap and gown pickup days: May 12, 13, 16–19 (store hours listed above).
- The cost of master’s degree regalia (cap, gown, tassel, and hood) is $95.70, plus shipping and handling. The standard domestic shipping charge for each order is $7.95; international shipping is $29.95.
All academic attire is made from sustainable materials, supporting the continued efforts of FIT in environmental sustainability.
Your Ticket and Guest Tickets
Graduates who order their cap and gown and submit their reservation to participate in commencement will be given four (4) guest tickets plus one (1) for their own entrance. All guests age 2 and up require a ticket for admission.
Transfer of tickets is not allowed.
Statement on Sale and Misuse of Commencement Tickets
FIT prohibits the sale or purchase of commencement tickets and the posting of advertisements
offering tickets for sale or requesting tickets for purchase. FIT also prohibits the
duplication of tickets as well as the production and use of counterfeit tickets. Any
student who the college has reason to believe is selling tickets, has purchased tickets,
has posted an advertisement offering to buy or sell tickets, or who is found to have
produced or attempted to use a duplicated or counterfeit ticket will be subject to
disciplinary action in accordance with the Code of Student Conduct. Penalties may include denial of permission to participate in commencement. Any guest
found to be using such tickets will be refused admission to the ceremony. Please contact [email protected] with any questions or concerns.
