DEAN’S FORUM: A CONVERSATION WITH LESLIE SHORT

The spring semester’s virtual Dean’s Forum took place on Thursday, 25 March at 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM. With the help of the Baker Scholars, The Baker School of Business and Technology at FIT was able to engage in a conversation with Leslie Short, moderated by
Professor Elena Romero of Advertising and Marketing Communications.

Leslie is an entrepreneur and currently the CEO and President of the Cavu Group. As an activist and conflict and transformational coach, Leslie, alongside the Cavu Group, offers consultation to Fortune 500 companies on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Given the current social and political climate, many students showed interest in educating themselves further on these topics of inclusivity and diversity. The students asked Ms. Short a variety of questions from dealing with disciminaton to racism at the workplace, and through her expertise in this field Ms. Short was able to offer guidance and input.

Another amazing draw to the event was that Ms. Short was kind enough to gift an autographed copy of her book, Expand Beyond Your Current Culture, to a lucky winner.

It was great to see dozens of students engaging with the conversation and being proactive in this manner.
