Celebrating Da Vinci - FIT in Florence Renaissance Pigotta for UNICEF

FIT in Florence Fashion Design students and professors partnered with UNICEF to create a series of Renaissance Pigottas, inspired by the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death. Fabrics for the amazing creations, with outfits from the 1400 and 1500’s, were donated by John Varvato.
The UNICEF ‘Pigotta’ (rag doll) is a much loved symbol, hand made by volunteers and then ‘adopted’ by the public. The co ntribution for the adoption of a ‘Pigotta’ covers the cost of antibiotics, vaccines, vitamins, a anti-malaria mosquito net and a safe childbirth kit.

Therefore adopting a Pigotta really saves children’s lives!
