Blogging

The Office of Communications and External Relations, in partnership with Information Technology, oversees the creation and development of FIT blogs. The web content coordinator holds regular orientation sessions that review college blogging policy and best practices.

Departments, programs, committees, and student clubs interested in starting a blog are required to attend an orientation. After orientation, the Technology Development Team offers training on WordPress, the software used to create and maintain FIT blogs.

Blogging Orientation

What is a blog? How is it different than a website? How much time should I spend blogging? What makes a good blog? How do I get readers to read my blog? Find out what blogging is all about. Session will include a review of the college blogging policy as well as tips and tricks and best practices. You are required to attend the blogging orientation before you can attend WordPress training, get a log-on and receive access to the blogging software.
