The Diversity Meets Technology of Fashion project focused on the theme of “The Legacy” presenting the unique cultural heritage of Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) communities in the U.S. with the purpose to provide an experiential learning opportunity to enhance students’ understanding and respect for diversity in the FIT community and broader community.
Participating FIT students collaborated to create 3D virtual clothing collections,
digital textile surface designs, 3D fashion show stage, and a full product assortment
line plan. The experience, knowledge, and skills obtained throughout the project prepared
the participating students for professional careers in a global diversified
society, which is propelled by digital technology.
