SUNY Awards
The State University of New York annually recognizes faculty, staff, and students who have made outstanding contributions to their respective professional fields, campuses, communities and the public at large.
Student Awards
The Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence was created in 1997 to recognize students who have best demonstrated, and been recognized for, the integration of academic excellence with accomplishments in the areas of leadership, athletics, community service, creative and performing arts or career achievement.
The Scholar Athlete Award recognizes a combination of academic excellence and outstanding athletic achievement at the Division I, Division III, and NJCAA levels.
Faculty and Staff Awards
The SUNY Chancellor's Awards (faculty and professional titles) are honors conferred by the State University of New York to provide system-wide recognition for excellence and consistently superior professional achievement. These awards fall into five categories: Teaching, Scholarship/Creative Activities, Faculty Service, Librarianship, and Professional Service.
Distinguished Faculty
Distinguished Faculty Rank programs encourage ongoing commitment to excellence, kindle intellectual vibrancy, elevate the standards of instruction and enrich contributions to public service. They demonstrate the State University’s pride and gratitude for the consummate professionalism, the groundbreaking scholarship, the exceptional instruction and the breadth and significance of service contributions of its faculty.
Appointment constitutes a promotion to the State University’s highest academic rank, and it is conferred solely by the State University Board of Trustees.
