Advertising and Marketing Communications AAS
The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree program gives you a broad-based introduction to the various aspects of this field: advertising, direct marketing, journalism, public relations, and media buying. You’ll graduate prepared to apply to the Advertising and Marketing Communications Bachelor of Science (BS) program. In the AAS program, you’ll create media campaigns, write ads and press releases, and produce commercials in a professional digital studio. You’ll participate in a required internship, and develop an advertising and marketing communications campaign and present it to leaders in the field.
Advertising and Marketing Communications BS
Guided by a faculty of practicing professionals, you will develop integrated marketing communication campaigns, media plans, and special events; direct and produce television and radio commercials; and write print ads, press releases, and newspaper and magazine articles. Then enhance what you learn in the classroom with an internship. If you have an AAS in Advertising and Marketing Communications from FIT, you may apply to this program. Students have interned at prestigious agencies and companies, including ABC Television, Barneys New York, BBDO, Calvin Klein, Deutsch Inc., Fox Broadcasting, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, and Lacoste. AMC graduates are working in high-level marketing positions in broadcast, publishing, fashion, cosmetics, and health care advertising agencies, to name a few. Their employers include Calvin Klein, TBWA\Chiat\Day, Clairol, Google, Huffington Post, MTV, NBC, Omnicom, Warner Media, and Zenith Media.

Loretta Volpe
An award-winning advertising executive and partner and co-founder at GMLV, Volpe was founder and CEO of Media Marketing Solutions, a division of WPP—a major U.S. advertising agency. She chairs Advertising and Marketing Communications and was awarded the SUNY Chancellor’s Award in 2009.
