Program

Global Fashion Management MPS
The program emphasizes leadership, applied creativity, problem-solving, and analytical thinking along with effective writing and presentation skills. The curriculum includes courses in production management and supply chain, global marketing and fashion brand management, culture and international business, corporate finance, politics and world trade, business policy, global retail management, entrepreneurship, and leadership. Four intensive seminars are taught at the participating institutions. The course of study is completed in a four-semester period. Graduating students are prepared for advancement within their sectors of the fashion industry.
This selective program is tailored to professionals in retail, design, marketing and merchandising, import/export, technology, fashion journalism, supply chain, or other related fields.
Our Work
Our students examine business, economic, cultural, creative, and technological trends, all through an international lens.

For the Mexico Seminar, FIT students were given the assignment to share their reflections, attitudes, impressions, and ideas on our experience in Oaxaca. GFM Class of 2022 student Zach Mauer shared his thoughts on two topics that were discussed at some length and his plans to incorporate his learnings into his career and his life.

When the lockdown squashed her job search, Fatima Vali pivoted and created Soulitude, masks and accessories made out of upcycled denim.

Opsi, a capstone project by graduating students Emily Foster, Sara Hogan, and Gabriela Maldonado, is a full-service shopping support concept that facilitates online shopping for the blind and visually impaired.

GFM students met in New York and heard Linda Greer, a senior global fellow with Beijing’s Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs, speak about reducing the carbon footprint of factories.

Impact
Prepared for the world … The international nature of the program allows graduates to take in the culture—not to mention the business practices—of several countries.

Beyond the Degree
Our alumni occupy leadership positions such as vice president of global supply chain; vice president of retail and operations; private client relationship manager; design and production manager; and design director. The companies they represent range from early-stage and entrepreneurial ventures to established American brands such as Macy’s, Saks, Ralph Lauren, Tiffany, Farfetch, Brooks Brothers, Global Brands Group, NPD Group, and PVH and European luxury houses including Chanel, Dior, Hermès, and Ferragamo.
