The Global Fashion Management (GFM) Master of Professional Studies graduate program, offered in collaboration with Institut Français de la Mode in Paris, Centro in Mexico City, and academic institutions in Asia, will prepare you for top managerial and leadership positions in the international fashion industry. Interactive and flexible, the course formats range from lectures and case studies to individual and team projects, presentations by guest speakers, and site visits.

Global Fashion Management MPS

The program emphasizes leadership, applied creativity, problem-solving, and analytical thinking along with effective writing and presentation skills. The curriculum includes courses in production management and supply chain, global marketing and fashion brand management, culture and international business, corporate finance, politics and world trade, business policy, global retail management, entrepreneurship, and leadership. Four intensive seminars are taught at the participating institutions. The course of study is completed in a four-semester period. Graduating students are prepared for advancement within their sectors of the fashion industry. 

This selective program is tailored to professionals in retail, design, marketing and merchandising, import/export, technology, fashion journalism, supply chain, or other related fields.

Beyond the Degree

Our alumni occupy leadership positions such as vice president of global supply chain; vice president of retail and operations; private client relationship manager; design and production manager; and design director. The companies they represent range from early-stage and entrepreneurial ventures to established American brands such as Macy’s, Saks, Ralph Lauren, Tiffany, Farfetch, Brooks Brothers, Global Brands Group, NPD Group, and PVH and European luxury houses including Chanel, Dior, Hermès, and Ferragamo.

Praveen Chaudry

Chaudhry’s recent work has focused on the impact of globalization, problems of state formation and understanding resistance movements through the eyes of nomadic peoples and weavers in Kashmir. He is a recipient of the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Scholarship and Creative Activities.

Meg Joseph

Meg Joseph

Joseph is an associate professor in the Department of Global Fashion Management. She previously worked in as director of international marketing for SONY Pictures Home Entertainment. She holds an MBA in marketing and the management of information, communication, and media from Columbia University and has completed doctoral work at the University of Buffalo.
