Computers in the Library
Technology Resources Overview
- You will find computer workstations, printers and print release stations, copiers,
and scanners distributed throughout the Library - Goodman building (E) - 4th, 5th
and 6th floors:

- Specialized equipment for artwork enlargement and projection, and basic photography lighting setup is available in MakerMinds space. Find out more on MakerMinds page
- Wireless connections are available on all floors
- Mobile devices used by FIT community can only connect through FITAIR wireless network - follow for instructions
- Personal software may not be loaded onto the Library's computers
- Adding funds to your ID card will allow you to use Pay-for-Print system, make copies and use PrintFX services
- Lab Monitors are available during the most of Library's hours of operation to provide assistance and basic troubleshooting
- Two assistive technology - FITABLE stations are available for use in the Library
Hours: Computer Labs in the Library are open during regular Library hours. For floor-by-floor hours of operation, holiday closings, and extended hours schedule during final weeks of semester, etc. please check Library Hours page.
Note: 4th and 5th floors close 15 minutes before Library closing time, 6th floor Lab operates under different schedule.
Other open computer labs on campus:
- The Computer Commons - rooms CC15 and CC15A located in the Feldman Center basement
- The Peter G. Scotese CAD/COM Facility - 6 classrooms used for classes and as Open Labs when classes are not in session are located on the 2nd floor of Feldman Center; To enter go through C220

Student Printing Overview
- You can send prints to Pay-for-Print system from any student workstation by selecting PFP_B&W or PFP_COLOR printer from Printer selection dropdown menu.
- There are charges for printing from all Print Release Stations in the College.
- Your FIT ID is used for adding value to and making payments from your printing account.
- You can release and pick up your prints at any Print-Release-Station:
- Library 5th and 6th fl, Goodman Resources Ctr.
- Computer Commons in CC15, basement of the Feldman Ctr.
Adding money to your account. You may add funds to your account by:
- Making an online deposit on eAccounts portal
- Refer to our step-by-step instructions on how to add money online
- Or add cash (bills only, no coins) at one of the two college's PHiL stations located
in:
- 5th floor Library lobby
- Basement of the Feldman building in CC15

Paper Size and Finish:
- To print in Black and White select PFP_B&W from available printers dropdown
- To print in Color select PFP_COLOR from available printers dropdown
- Two paper sizes available in the Labs: US Letter (8 1/2 x 11") and Ledger/Tabloid (11 x 17")
Pricing:
- Black and White laser printing is $0.10
- Color laser printing is $0.90 per page
- Same price for 8.5x11" and 11x17"
Library Printing Locations
- 5th Floor: Two Pay-for-Print Printers are located in E539 and available until 15 minutes before closing time.
- 6th Floor: Two Pay-for-Print Printers are located in E620 and are available until
15 minutes before closing time*.
*The 6th floor closes at 12midnight Monday-Thursday, and at 10pm Friday-Sunday during the Fall/Spring semesters

Professional Quality Printing at PrintFX
Professional quality digital printing services, fabric and specialty media printing, and fabrication services such as laser cutting and engraving, vinyl cutting, and 3D printing are available at PrintFX / FabLab in Pomerantz, 5th floor, D529A.
Assistance in the Labs
Our Computer Labs are staffed by Student Lab Monitors for the most of Library's operation hours.
- Lab Monitors are there to assist with basic hardware and software issues, printing,
and other functions of the Labs
- Lab Monitors should not be expected to provide in depth assistance with projects, or advanced tutoring for applications. For these services please contact Academic Skills Tutoring Center

- MakerMinds - located on the 6th floor of the library and is equipped with:
- basic photography setup used for small to mid size object photography
- projectors used for artwork enlargement
- copy stand for oversized artwork documentation by photography

Software on Student Workstations
All Open Computer Labs across the FIT campus have a set collection of software installed. It is likely that additional software packages used to support specific curriculum are available in the classrooms, but may not be available in the open computer labs.
Arduino IDE / TBD - software is available on the 6th floor, room E601, on workstations numbered 2 - 10 and 26. Arduino also has a web based application.
